Collaborate with Manufacturing and Sourcing Teams
Lead projects and serve as a key engineering contact for internal teams and external customers.
Develop complete engineering packages including drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
Lead Design and Development of Heat Transfer Products
Support implementation of new coil technologies and rapid prototyping using solid modeling tools.
Ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective by working closely with vendors and operations.
Create project overviews, schedules, and plans aligned with product and business objectives.
Provide Technical Leadership and Support
Conduct technical bid evaluations, assist with vendor selection, and expedite critical components.
Represent the company in technical discussions and industry forums.
Manage Product Development and Value Engineering Projects
Design HVAC&R coils and heat exchangers in compliance with industry codes and structural standards.
Execute NPD and VA/VE initiatives from concept through delivery, ensuring timeline and budget adherence.
Support standardization and cost-reduction efforts through innovative design improvements.
Perform design calculations, structural integrity evaluations, and practical manufacturability checks.
Troubleshoot performance issues, manage engineering documentation, and support continuous improvement.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineer, required
Proficiency in FEA (finite element analysis) software

Master’s degree, preferred
Leadership ability; ability to produce through persuasion versus direct authority
Ability to communicate effectively verbally
Knowledge and experience with codes in the HVAC&R industry, including but not limited to: Pressure vessel and piping codes (ASME BPVC Section VIII, ASME BPVC Section IX, ASME B31.5); Refrigeration systems safety standards (UL 207, UL 60334-2-40, ASHRAE 15); IIAR Ammonia and CO2 standards; Certification and Regulation: AHRI 420, California Title 24
May need to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work from motorized, elevated work platforms during inspections and commissioning
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Knowledge and field experiences (design and build, application, operation, and trouble-shooting)
Intermediate knowledge in electrical and controls or structure FEA analysis, highly preferred
Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiples tasks in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge and experience in coil design and manufacturing
Occasional lifting 50 pounds
3-5 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in CFD, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction practices
Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy
Project management experience
Knowledge of HVAC&R systems and components, particularly on the condenser and evaporator
Solid theoretical knowledge and sound engineering judgement; good track record of developing from concept to viable real-world solutions
