Job Highlights
About the Role
• Perform minor repairs and apply basic welding processes (arc, gas, aluminum, brazing, soft soldering) on various materials. • Repair compactors, containers, and carts, including flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching of metal and plastic parts. • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose/repair electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors. • Complete required paperwork in fleet maintenance software, documenting parts usage and repair times. • Assist senior welders on project work and respond to service calls for compactor repairs. • Interpret prints, drawings, and verbal instructions to set up dimensions and tolerances using standard hand tools and measuring devices. • Work within Standard Repair Times while adhering to established safety procedures and OSHA standards. • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA regulations.

Benefits
The position offers a pay rate starting at $20 per hour, with higher rates based on experience, and a typical schedule of Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Under general supervision, the welder fabricates and repairs compactors, containers, and carts using appropriate welding techniques.
