About the Role

• Manage overall financial health of projects • Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules • Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers • Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections • Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices • Provide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billings • Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections of trade partners • Handle billings, contract management, and change orders • Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Manager I to lead projects with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment. This role involves managing project quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication skills. Mortenson reserves the right to hire any individual without legal or financial obligation for unwanted solicitations, and agency emails, calls, or solicitations are accepted only with a valid agreement. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience • Minimum six years of related experience • Proven ability to assist with responsibilities for complex projects • Detail‑oriented to organize and manage multiple project tasks • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices • Experience in commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies preferred • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, project, and relevant web applications • Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Current driver’s license

Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $113,500 MIN – $170,300 MAX. Actual ranges are higher for certain locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL (+5%), Seattle, WA and Portland, OR (+10%), and Washington, D.C. (+12.5%).
