About the Role
The position provides cost‑management services from contract signature through to project completion across various sectors and includes leadership of managers and professionals. • Manage safety‑first delivery, ensuring quality, cost, programme, sustainability and compliance. • Provide strategic leadership for key commissions, aligning delivery with client objectives. • Govern commercial, contractual and ethical operations to maintain fiscal discipline and legislative compliance. • Inspire inclusive teams and drive continuous improvement toward net‑zero outcomes. • Oversee contract administration, documentation, certifications and final account agreement. • Control post‑contract costs, valuations, variations, reporting and contractor claims. • Lead commercial stakeholder management and develop high‑performing cost‑management teams. • Drive system and process improvements that support net‑zero carbon targets.

As we head into 2026, we are seeking Associate Director and Senior Manager level Commercial Managers ready for a new challenge. The role offers the chance to join over 400 colleagues in our Defence Business Unit, which supports Defence and National Security across infrastructure, commercial services and project delivery. Candidates must hold, or be able to obtain, Security Clearance (SC) and be flexible to work in London or the South West, with exposure to Defence and NEC contracts seen as advantageous. • Hold a degree in quantity surveying, cost management or an equivalent discipline. • Possess professional membership or be progressing towards MRICS/RICS or an equivalent qualification. • Demonstrate experience in business development and strong commercial and financial acumen. • Knowledge of value engineering, life‑cycle costing, contract law and construction contractual frameworks. • Experience leading project segments within large, diverse teams. • Proven ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders. • Understanding of carbon and sustainability considerations shaping project outlooks.
