About the Role

In this role you will deliver high‑quality environmental noise assessments and acoustical modeling for projects across Canada and beyond, providing actionable mitigation strategies that influence infrastructure, energy, and industrial developments. You will act as a trusted advisor and subject‑matter expert during environmental assessments, helping clients meet regulatory requirements while aligning outcomes with sustainability goals. • Conduct environmental noise assessments and predictive modeling using tools like CadnaA, STAMSON, and TNM. • Perform field measurements and compliance evaluations for pre‑ and post‑construction surveys. • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and regulatory submissions for permitting processes. • Develop noise mitigation strategies and collaborate with ERM’s global acoustics community. • Engage with agencies, attend site visits, and represent clients at public meetings. • Ensure all deliverables meet ERM’s quality, budget, and schedule standards.

As a Consulting Associate, Acoustics and Vibrations, you will support noise and vibration management—critical components of sustainable, livable environments. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, environmental, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience), with 0‑1 year of acoustics and vibration experience. Candidates must have a strong foundation in noise/vibration principles, proficiency with modeling software such as CadnaA, STAMSON or TNM, and solid Microsoft Office and technical writing skills. A valid driver’s license is also required due to frequent travel to client sites. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in acoustics or vibration, eligibility for Professional Engineer registration in Ontario, BC or Alberta, and programming abilities in Python, Java, or Excel VBA. Familiarity with sound and vibration instrumentation and industrial noise‑control specifications is also valued. • Requirements: bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field, 0‑1 year acoustics experience, strong MS Office and technical writing skills, valid driver’s license. • Preferred: advanced degree in acoustics/vibration, PE registration in Ontario/BC/Alberta, programming (Python/Java) and Excel VBA expertise.

The anticipated base salary ranges from $65,000 to $75,854 CAD, with potential bonus eligibility for certain employee categories.
