About the Role

The role includes managing relationships with assigned business groups, developing and updating staffing priorities, conducting weekly customer meetings, and maintaining staffing reports. Key duties involve sourcing and staffing open positions, recruiting diverse candidates, collaborating with hiring managers on recruitment and selection plans, and negotiating with external recruiting resources such as agencies and internet service companies. The specialist will also create employment offers, employ various talent‑sourcing approaches—including direct recruiting, job fairs, and online recruiting—and refer team members to headquarters talent‑management services for benefits, issue resolution, and drug‑free programs. • Act as Talent Acquisition Relationship Manager for assigned business groups. • Develop and update staffing priorities and weekly staffing reports. • Collaborate with hiring managers to create recruitment and selection plans. • Negotiate and manage external recruiting resources (agencies, researchers, internet services). • Prepare and coordinate employment offers with hiring managers. • Utilize talent sourcing methods such as direct recruiting, job fairs, and online recruiting. • Refer team members to headquarters talent management services for benefits and issue resolution. • Build and maintain relationships across all organizational levels.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist II to serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and acquire the right talent to support business objectives. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience, a minimum of four years in recruiting or HR, strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills, and proficiency with PC software and HRIS/databases. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; Mortenson does not offer visa sponsorship. • Hold a bachelor's degree in HR or equivalent and at least four years of recruiting/HR experience. • Demonstrate strong organizational, prioritization, and communication abilities. • Proficient in PC software (Excel, Word) and HRIS/databases. • Exhibit teamwork orientation, positive attitude, and active listening skills.
