About the Role

• String overhead wire. • Set poles and anchors. • Operate around energized high‑voltage systems with skill and care. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good condition. • Learn transmission voltages on a circuit. • Safely set poles. • Assist in inspecting and recognizing structural problems. • Assist in troubleshooting. • Assist with assembly and erection of towers to all heights. • Assist with aerial ladder work for catching off and clipping in. • Assist in framing and setting basic line structures. • Assist in framing de‑energized pole structures in the air. • Install all types of compression connections. • Properly install and remove PPE and cover‑ups. • Inspect rubber goods, covers, and PPE. • Climb various structures (wood, steel, etc.) using appropriate tools. • Tie various lineman knots. • Make up and use a hand line. • Follow grounding procedures. • Set up equipment and grounding correctly. • Use Kellum grips when appropriate. • Identify different materials used in line work. • Observe minimum approach distances. • Follow flag and tag procedures. • Travel long distances on short notice when required. • Work extended periods in various locations as needed. • Inspect rubber goods and PPE properly.

What You Bring

The Class C Lineman Transmission is an entry‑level position focused on the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. Work may occur at various sites and can require travel to other states based on customer demands. Physical demands include frequent talking, hearing, standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling and reaching, as well as the ability to lift over 50 lb and perform rigorous physical labor. • Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair of energized and de‑energized transmission work. • Perform rigorous physical labor. • Be familiar with induced voltage. • Read and understand blueprints. • Work productively from an aerial device. • Work alone on de‑energized lines. • Learn to sag wire from structures or buckets. • Work at heights and confined spaces. • Perform basic bucket rescue/escape. • Minimum of 1 year field experience. • Read and communicate effectively in English. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment. • Commercial Driver’s License preferred. • Lift more than 50 lb. • Willing to work overtime as requested. • Willing to glove/work live high‑voltage transmission lines. • Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
