About the Role

Key responsibilities include acting as the principal contact for cost‑management matters, leading and motivating the Turner & Townsend team, and maintaining client relationships. The leader will deliver assurance services such as peer‑reviews, gateway reviews, maturity assessments and performance audits, and will periodically take charge of major program delivery to achieve steady‑state outcomes and manage transitions. Additional duties involve overseeing regional programs, defining recruitment plans, supporting business‑development initiatives, and ensuring high‑quality service delivery aligned with commercial drivers. • Act as principal point of contact for cost management matters and lead the Turner & Townsend team • Lead and motivate others, providing direction and inspiring high performance • Take on key account roles, ensure project execution assurance and maintain client relationships • Deliver assurance services – peer review, gateway review, maturity assessments, readiness reviews, progress and performance audits • Periodically assume major program delivery roles to achieve steady‑state delivery and manage transition/backfill • Provide oversight and assurance to the Turner & Townsend major program in the region • Identify organizational needs, build recruitment plans and develop role specifications • Play a key role in Real Estate CM business development activities for the cost centre • Assist in developing and implementing marketing and business development strategies • Provide solutions to clients and collaborate on sales proposals, qualification packages and presentation materials • Coordinate with project team leaders on project negotiations and execution • Deliver high‑quality service products using Turner & Townsend systems, policies and procedures, managing time, planning and organizing to ensure excellence • Take responsibility for BU performance and project P/L • Identify and understand areas of opportunity and development

The New York Real Estate team is expanding and seeks a strong leader to head its Cost Management (CM) Team. The role offers a unique chance to build on a solid foundation and elevate operations to a higher maturity level, overseeing cost‑management discipline in a commercial real‑estate setting while driving regional growth. The successful candidate will be an agile, emotionally intelligent leader with a strong technical delivery record, capable of working in multicultural environments and influencing senior audiences. Candidates must have at least 20 years of relevant experience, with a mandatory background in New York City, and hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline such as Construction Management, Civil or Electrical Engineering. Professional accreditation as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) and proven business‑development experience are required. The role demands a proactive, quality‑driven, self‑motivated team leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a track record of leading and developing professional teams. • Leverage extensive experience in delivering CM programs, projects and segment knowledge • Demonstrate understanding of commercial business drivers and align work accordingly, contributing to business opportunity development • Minimum 20 + years of relevant experience in cost management • Prior experience working in NYC (required) • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field • RICS qualified (MRICS) – Chartered Quantity Surveyor • Proven business development/generation experience • Proactive, quality‑driven, self‑motivated hands‑on team leader with multitasking ability • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage clients and senior management • Experience leading professional teams and developing talent
