About the Role

The Survey Foreman is responsible for delivering construction layout and survey services, reporting to the Survey Manager, directing the survey crew, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards, and meeting project deadlines efficiently. The role involves managing earthwork takeoffs, topographic survey analysis, machine control files, as‑built and shop drawings, cut sheets, and maintaining an organized digital filing system. The Survey Foreman communicates regularly with management, engineers, and field crews, oversees daily field layouts, assists with field issues, and supports the Field Supervisor when needed. • Perform earthwork takeoffs using AGTEK. • Conduct quantitative analysis of topographic surveys. • Maintain machine control files for dozers and motor graders. • Produce and submit as‑built and shop drawings to project management. • Generate cut sheets from plans and stakeout data. • Keep the digital filing system organized and up‑to‑date. • Track latest plan revisions and job changes. • Communicate continuously with survey management, crews, engineers, and project managers. • Coordinate daily work layouts for field crews. • Monitor field crews, addressing issues on site. • Support the Field Supervisor and manage department duties in the manager’s absence. • Create Excel spreadsheets for horizontal and vertical stakeout analysis. • Upload files and initialize machine control equipment when needed. • Ensure field crew plan sets reflect current revisions.

What You Bring

Candidates must have several years of experience with Trimble Business Center or similar CAD software, AGTEK estimating tools, and Excel, as well as a background in land surveying, construction layout, and field surveying leadership. Overtime availability is required. • Minimum 2 years experience with Trimble Business Center or comparable CAD software. • Minimum 2 years experience using AGTEK or similar estimating/takeoff tools. • At least 1 year of advanced Excel experience. • Background in land surveying and construction layout. • Minimum 2 years of field surveying leadership as chief or foreman.
