What You Bring

The Utility Service Technician I role is designed for individuals looking to grow within Surveying & Subsurface Utility Engineering. Working as part of a small crew, you will help manage utility services projects in the field, learning underground utility location for road, building, and utility master plan designs. The position provides experience in risk mitigation for underground utilities, GIS grade map work for various jurisdictions, and includes all necessary tools, equipment, and a company vehicle. Based out of our Cary, NC office, the role primarily involves travel throughout the southeast, with occasional assignments to NV5 offices in California, Oregon, Texas, Colorado, and Florida. The Utility Services Department emphasizes internal promotion and will provide training to the right candidate. • Hold a High School Diploma or GED. • CDL preferred. • At least 1 year of utility designation experience. • Obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment. • Travel up to 60% of the time. • Demonstrate basic computer skills and ability to learn new software. • Familiarity with iPad or tablet is a plus.
