About the Role
The ITS Toll Plaza Manager plans, coordinates, and supervises the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of Intelligent Transportation Systems at toll plazas during construction. This role ensures that all tolling and traffic technology systems meet project specifications, schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. • Coordinate ITS activities with civil, electrical, and structural construction teams. • Serve as primary liaison among contractors, ITS vendors, consultants, and the client. • Review and approve ITS construction drawings, layouts, and technical submittals. • Develop and manage ITS installation schedules aligned with project milestones. • Supervise installation of electronic toll collection (ETC/RFID) and automatic vehicle classification equipment. • Oversee deployment of license plate recognition, CCTV, surveillance, and lane control systems. • Manage installation of communication networks, fiber optics, cabling, and power supply/back‑up systems. • Ensure proper integration of ITS components with civil works and electrical infrastructure. • Monitor site activities to maintain quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. • Lead system integration testing and commissioning of toll plaza systems. • Identify and resolve technical and construction‑related issues during testing. • Verify full operational status of ITS before toll plaza opening. • Enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements on‑site. • Conduct inspections and audits of ITS work to ensure standards are met. • Maintain accurate records, reports, and as‑built documentation. • Support training of operations and maintenance teams on installed systems. • Manage handover of ITS installations to operations or authority teams. • Lead multi‑disciplinary teams and direct subcontractors to achieve project goals. • Maintain organized onsite project documentation and schedule coordination. • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately. • Participate in 401(k) with company match and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

What You Bring
As the senior project‑level manager at MasTec Civil, the Toll Plaza Manager must demonstrate strong leadership, common sense, training, loyalty, patience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams while adhering to all company policies and procedures. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. • Possess at least five years of heavy‑construction experience, including bridge, roadwork, and DOT projects. • Preferred PMP certification demonstrating project management expertise. • Demonstrated experience managing ITS installations on toll roads or highways. • Strong understanding of heavy‑construction methods and means. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project scheduling (P‑3 minimum). • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all stakeholder levels. • Highly motivated, results‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
