About the Role
The Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer reports to the Sr. Manager for Facilities and Maintenance and is tasked with achieving department objectives for the electrical infrastructure at the Graniteville, SC site. The engineer plans, coordinates, and oversees the installation and maintenance of all electrical systems, directs preventive and reactive maintenance programs, manages capital projects for upgrades and energy‑efficiency, and performs technical analyses such as load calculations and arc‑flash assessments while maintaining compliance with applicable codes and standards. Responsibilities include maintaining detailed documentation, developing preventive maintenance plans, supporting energy‑management initiatives, leading training and safety programs for the maintenance team, and acting as the subject‑matter expert for electrical matters across the campus. The role also owns and operates renewable energy assets such as photovoltaic and electric‑vehicle charging systems, manages critical spares inventory, coordinates with external vendors and multidisciplinary project teams, and contributes to emergency planning, disaster recovery, and adherence to the MTU Integrity Code. • Oversee installation and maintenance of power distribution, lighting, HVAC controls, fire alarms, and backup power systems. • Manage planned preventive maintenance, Fixed Electrical Testing, Infrared Testing, and reactive maintenance on HV/LV electrical systems. • Lead capital projects for electrical upgrades, expansions, and energy‑efficiency improvements. • Perform load calculations, short‑circuit analysis, arc‑flash assessments, and system capacity planning. • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA and maintain accurate electrical documentation. • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, utilities and develop Service Level Agreements. • Own and operate campus photovoltaic, EV charging systems, and the onsite microgrid. • Develop and maintain critical spares inventory for essential assets. • Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations teams. • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

What You Bring
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, at least three years of industrial experience, and be authorized to work in the U.S.; preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineer license, Certified Energy Manager certification, OSHA 30‑Hour training, and proficiency with electrical design software.
