About the Role
Typical duties cover the pre‑bid process (working with upper management to determine project suitability, preparing scope letters, bid forms, and required documents), the bid process (maintaining a vendor/subcontractor database, obtaining, evaluating, and comparing bids, and gathering prequalification information), and the post‑bid process (preparing and attending kickoff meetings, handling major equipment buyouts, assisting project managers with change‑order pricing, and archiving information for future estimates). • Read and analyze blueprints and specifications accurately and quickly • Assemble complete estimates and learn company estimating procedures • Maintain respectful work environment; no bullying or drama tolerated • Manage pre‑bid activities: assess project fit, prepare scope letters and bid documents • Conduct bid process: maintain vendor/subcontractor database, evaluate bids, collect prequalifications • Lead post‑bid tasks: attend kickoff meetings, coordinate equipment buyouts, support change‑order pricing, archive data for future use

What You Bring
Requirements include the ability to pass a drug test, legal eligibility to work in the US, a high school diploma, a current driver’s license, proficiency in English, expert math skills, and at least 5 years of experience bidding HVAC and plumbing projects. Candidates must be able to read, understand, and analyze blueprints and specifications, work quickly and accurately, be willing to learn estimating procedures, and know how to assemble complete estimates for management review. They must also work with colleagues respectfully; bullying and drama are not tolerated. The role requires a minimum of five years’ experience in HVAC and plumbing estimating.
