About the Role
The Davenport Operator is tasked with the efficient setup, operation, and upkeep of multi‑spindle turning machines, primarily Davenport machines, to produce precision‑engineered components. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role demands strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity. • Operate and set up Davenport multi‑spindle turning machines according to production orders. • Install required tooling and materials before each run. • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance on the equipment. • Handle aluminium, 17‑4 stainless steel, Inconel 718, A286 and other alloys, following proper procedures. • Read and interpret metric and imperial engineering drawings with geometric tolerances. • Measure and inspect machined components to verify quality specifications. • Record production data and maintain accurate documentation. • Follow company safety protocols and maintain a clean 5S‑compliant work area. • Collaborate with the Production Manager and team to coordinate workflow and resolve issues. • Access multiple career paths and development opportunities across 60+ brands. • Utilize learning resources such as the Lean Academy and online university for certifications.
