About the Role

The Material Handler, reporting to the Departmental Supervisor/Lead Person, is responsible for loading products safely and accurately according to company policies, procedures, and work instructions. This is a second‑shift evening position, Monday‑Friday from 3 PM to 11 PM, with a starting hourly rate of $19.65 plus a $1.00 shift differential and step‑pay increases at 90 days, 1 year, and 2 years. • Identify material by part number, description, quantity, and quality during loading/unloading. • Gather and stage customer orders; update consolidation cards for shortages. • Complete computer transactions using the MRP system for finished goods. • Use ship papers and CDR load sheets to verify product for loading. • Transport product to staging area with straddle truck and forklift. • Operate overhead cranes to move pole product between bolsters. • Perform general housekeeping: sweeping, painting, powered sweeping, and mopping. • Safely dispose of wood dunnage to prevent tripping hazards. • Assist in loading trailers as needed. • Demonstrate quality assurance by accurately checking own work.

What You Bring

The work environment includes production facilities that require personal protective equipment such as hand, hearing, foot, eye, and head protection, as well as exposure to outdoor elements. Physical effort is moderate to heavy, involving continuous lifting of 35‑50 lb, standing, bending, climbing up to 8 ft, and maneuvering carts in tight spaces. • Hold a high school diploma or GED and be able to read and write English. • Apply basic manufacturing math skills. • Have at least 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment, heavy equipment operation, and computer inventory control systems. • Prior experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and straddle trucks. • Preferred: 1 year manufacturing experience, heavy equipment operation, and IFS system usage.
