About the Role

The Fire Alarm Technician will install, program, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems while executing projects on schedule and within allocated installation hours. Responsibilities include collaborating with project managers to resolve discrepancies, interpreting complex blueprints and specifications, coordinating with trades, attending site meetings, training customers, conducting system simulations, delivering excellent customer service, completing documentation promptly, adhering to safety policies, and participating in on‑call rotations. • Install, program, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems. • Execute projects on time within allocated installation hours. • Collaborate with project managers to resolve discrepancies and coordination issues. • Read and interpret complex blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and product manuals. • Coordinate installation activities with all trades to optimize time. • Attend required site meetings and provide customer training on equipment operation. • Conduct system simulations and address customer inquiries. • Maintain excellent customer service and communication with district staff. • Complete project documentation promptly and adhere to OSHA and safety policies. • Participate in a scheduled on‑call rotation and perform other assigned duties.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a college diploma in fire protection or electrical/electronic fields and be a licensed electrician, with experience reading blueprints and strong communication and documentation skills. They should be proficient with hand tools, test equipment, and commissioning devices, able to obtain required licenses, perform physical labor (lifting 50‑70 lb, working at heights), work flexible hours including weekends, possess a valid driver’s license and pass a background check, and demonstrate high customer‑service orientation; preference is given to ASTTBC‑registered fire protection technicians and certified electricians. • Hold a college diploma in fire protection or electrical/electronic field and be a licensed electrician. • Demonstrate strong communication, report writing, and documentation skills. • Proficient with hand tools, test equipment, multimeters, and commissioning devices. • Ability to obtain and retain required licenses and perform physical labor (lifting 50‑70 lb, working at heights). • Flexible to work weekends, overtime, and travel as required. • Possess a valid driver’s license and pass a pre‑employment background check. • Preferred: ASTTBC‑registered fire protection technician or certified electrician.
