About the Role
The Superintendent 2 plans, manages, and executes all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity, handling material and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring complete documentation, and achieving timely, profitable completion in line with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. Key responsibilities include leading safety culture, managing subcontractors and staff, developing work plans, coordinating site control, conducting daily stand‑ups and trade meetings, creating and adjusting schedules, tracking budgets, communicating with owners and stakeholders, maintaining documentation, handling cost reporting, evaluating self‑perform work, managing material and equipment procurement, supporting timecard approval, ensuring quality compliance, supervising close‑out activities, participating in project planning and staffing, managing risks, negotiating changes, and promoting diversity and inclusion. Additional duties involve managing fairly complex stand‑alone projects from start to finish, overseeing scheduling, production, safety, and quality, identifying and mitigating risks, delivering internal resources, and participating in project pursuits and negotiations. • Lead and enforce the company’s safety culture, mentor staff, and investigate incidents. • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and overall job workflow. • Oversee staff and coordinate safety, quality, and EEO programs. • Develop and implement work plans for subcontractors and self‑performed work. • Control site custody and coordinate daily stand‑ups and weekly trade meetings. • Create, adjust, and maintain project schedules with the Project Manager. • Track project budgets and costs using the management system. • Communicate key project information to owners, design teams, authorities, and vendors. • Maintain project documentation, drawings, logs, and inspection records. • Approve and record unit costs, and complete daily and weekly reports. • Evaluate self‑perform progress and adjust plans as needed. • Manage material and equipment procurement and support MOC/DLSC processes. • Approve timecards and ensure accurate cost coding. • Ensure quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC, and external resources. • Supervise pre‑punch activities and coordinate project close‑out with stakeholders. • Participate in project pre‑planning, staffing, and risk management throughout the lifecycle. • Negotiate project changes with owners and architects. • Recruit top talent and promote diversity and inclusion. • Manage complex stand‑alone projects from inception to completion. • Identify and mitigate project risks and propose solutions. • Coordinate internal resources such as logistics and IPS for deliverables.

What You Bring
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include accurate and timely work performance, intermediate verbal and written communication, presentation skills, proficiency in MS Office and construction management software, understanding of project processes, relationship‑building, Lean principles, trade and labor productivity knowledge, budgeting, and the ability to interpret document changes impacts. Education requirements are a high school diploma or GED, with a bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field preferred. Experience required includes 5+ years in construction and 3+ years in field supervision, with Lean principles experience preferred. • Conduct effective presentations and maintain intermediate proficiency in MS Office and construction software.
