About the Role
The Hoisting Superintendent 1 provides day‑to‑day supervision of all hoisting activities on a project, including asset scheduling, operator assignment, training, assembly and disassembly crew coordination, and lift planning. The role ensures hoisting assets remain in good working condition and meet inspection requirements, and may also support hoisting activities for other projects within the assigned area, aligning with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. • Coordinate pre‑planning for assembly/disassembly crews, schedules, materials, trucks, and ensure crew training • Collaborate with PreCon teams to develop project budgets and resource plans • Provide jobsite coverage and manage PTO for hoisting superintendents and foremen • Lead, train, and organize a dedicated assembly/disassembly crew and oversee daily activities • Conduct routine quality‑control checks on mechanics, drivers, and crew to verify equipment maintenance per manufacturer specifications • Perform daily Job Safety Analyses and safety briefings for mechanics, drivers, and crew • Determine crane set‑up locations and ground stabilization needs based on lift requirements • Develop comprehensive hoisting plans, selecting crane type, size and configuration for project needs • Manage staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and ensure compliance with Safety, Quality and EEOC programs • Create job‑specific lift plans using site visits, blueprints and drawings detailing height, weight and hoisting specs • Prioritize and de‑conflict multiple crane movements on site • Ensure equipment maintenance and repairs follow manufacturer specifications and are documented • Oversee complex rigging and critical lift planning documentation • Perform operator evaluations to meet OSHA 1926.1427 requirements • Communicate with owner’s representatives during project progress meetings • Assess and optimize assembly/disassembly productivity and critical lift plan creation • Deliver excellent customer service and build collaborative relationships

A valid unrestricted driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lb are required; overnight travel and exposure to extreme weather may be necessary. Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED, with relevant experience considered in lieu of formal education. • Utilize MS Office and advanced 3D lift‑plan software • Minimum high school diploma/GED; relevant experience may substitute • 5+ years mobile crane assembly/disassembly, inspection, maintenance and repair experience • 3+ years supervisory experience in the same field • Valid unrestricted driver’s license; ability to lift 50 lb; willingness to travel and work in extreme conditions • Strong verbal and written communication skills; intermediate MS Office proficiency; advanced 3D lift‑plan expertise
