About the Role

• Manage project labor, including craft labor and subcontractors, and oversee weekly labor reports. • Review and approve craft worker certifications, trainings, and timecards. • Participate in site orientation, safety meetings, and hire/dismissal processes for craft workers. • Coordinate on‑site operations, equipment, schedule, and scope of work, including set‑up, work‑in‑place, and project closeout. • Support project managers in schedule development and updates. • Liaise with equipment facilities and external providers for project equipment such as cranes and trailers. • Verify quantity takeoffs and materials during the buyout process for specific scopes. • Manage Production and Innovation Boards and daily Plan of Day (POD) activities. • Assist safety manager/engineer with site safety audits and observations. • Ensure quality control of self‑performed and subcontractor work. • Orient, train, evaluate, and manage performance of craft workers.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to coordinate and supervise subcontractors and craft team members within a specific construction discipline. The position does not offer visa sponsorship and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The company does not accept unsolicited agency communications without a valid agreement, and candidates must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil/architectural engineering, construction management or equivalent experience. • Minimum 3 years of construction management or related experience. • Valid driver’s license. • Preferred completion or interest in Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice electrician program. • Ability to qualify in electrical circuitry as required by Mortenson. • Capability to handle development to closeout for multiple complex projects and manage multiple tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project software, and web applications. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service and communication skills. • Ability to travel up to 100%. • Knowledge of EEOC, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans.

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $93,400 to $126,100, with higher ranges for certain locations (Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Washington, D.C.).
