About the Role

The successful candidate will lead mechanical engineering design on assigned projects, serve as the lead engineer for deliverable development, and coordinate with the piping design team to finalize engineering drawings. Collaboration across disciplines will include equipment general arrangements, P&IDs, isometrics, and orthographic drawings, while providing technical expertise for risk assessments and client presentations. The engineer will generate deliverables from feasibility through detail design, develop specifications and material requisitions, and support construction, start‑up, and commissioning. • Lead mechanical engineering design on assigned power generation projects. • Serve as lead engineer, overseeing development of all project deliverables. • Coordinate with the mechanical piping design team to complete engineering drawings. • Collaborate across disciplines on equipment arrangements, P&IDs, isometrics, asset and tie‑in lists, and orthographic drawings. • Provide technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence, and client presentations. • Generate mechanical engineering deliverables from feasibility through detail design. • Develop construction and equipment specifications and material requisitions. • Support projects during construction, start‑up, and commissioning from the home office. • Perform quality control reviews of work produced by others. • Participate in project and client meetings. • Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors. • Assist with internal and external presentations. • Travel occasionally to client or project sites.

What You Bring

Minimum qualifications include a BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering and six years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work. Preferred qualifications are a Master’s degree, Professional Engineer license, 12+ years in power‑generation facilities, and 5+ years as a technical mechanical lead. Expertise with industry codes, equipment specification, metallurgy, startup and commissioning, and advanced engineering software is also required. • BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of related experience (or equivalent). • Experience in mechanical engineering for power generation facilities. • Preferred: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. • 12+ years experience with power generation facilities; 5+ years as technical mechanical lead or engineer of record. • Experience designing combined‑cycle plants and nuclear generation stations. • Expert knowledge of industry codes and standards (API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, ASTM, etc.). • Expertise specifying rotating and static equipment and piping material specifications. • Familiarity with diverse metallurgy and startup/commissioning field experience. • Proficiency with Thermoflow, Hysys, Caesar II, Pipe‑Flo, AspenTech, and Applied Flow Technology applications. • Experience with collaborative model environments such as Navisworks and BIM 360. • Demonstrated participation in complex, multi‑discipline programs and projects. • Ability to work effectively in remote and multi‑discipline teams.
