About the Role

• Oversee construction survey operations and ensure work aligns with design intent. • Interface with contractors, trades, field engineers, and subcontractors to verify compliance with drawings and specifications. • Manage quality control for both self‑performed and subcontracted survey work. • Build cross‑cultural relationships, resolve conflicts, and promote diversity and teamwork. • Lead safety initiatives, including the Zero Injury Safety Program, and foster a strong safety culture. • Coordinate project start‑up with the registered surveyor company and attend project meetings. • Maintain positive customer service, support resources, and uphold Mortenson’s values and code of ethics. • Provide leadership that encourages work‑life balance and a respectful environment.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to coordinate and supervise project‑based survey and layout requirements. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety across all surveying activities on construction sites. • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent survey experience. • Minimum five years of construction survey experience; Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required. • Proficiency with Bentley Inroads, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center or comparable survey software. • Experience operating total stations, GPS, data collectors, and related equipment.

Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $87,100 to $117,600, with higher ranges for select locations such as Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C. The role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan and does not offer visa sponsorship.
