About the Role

The analyst executes capital plan deliverables, maintains ongoing changes to the capital plan and budgets, and triages and tracks project requests from clients, facility management, and project management teams. They identify and create projects from building condition assessment data, recommending scopes of work, justifications, and high‑level estimates. They evaluate cost estimates for cyclical maintenance, replacement, and repair of building components, integrating data from prior tenders, projects, and consulting reports, and incorporate other data sources such as roof inspection data. The role ensures data integrity of capital planning information within BGIS’s proprietary information management systems, compiling and maintaining large volumes of data to support reporting, benchmarking, and analytical needs. The analyst performs ad‑hoc calculations and analyses based on client requests to aid business communication and decision‑making. The analyst assists the capital planning manager with production and maintenance of the Multi‑Year and Annual Capital Plans, conducts integrated working sessions with other work streams, and maintains the Asset Management Dashboard. What You Bring

As an integral member of the Capital Planning Team, the Capital Planning Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support focusing on capital planning. This position requires the ability to handle a large volume of information and data sets, excellent data analysis and interpretation skills and a strong commitment to data integrity. All duties are conducted in support of and under the supervision of the Capital Planning Program Manager. Candidates should have 3‑5 years of experience in capital planning, asset management, or data analytics, and hold a university degree or professional certification such as P.Eng, CMA, or CGA. They must handle large data sets with strong attention to detail, possess strong data analysis and interpretation abilities, and be proficient with computer software, learning new programs as needed. Understanding of asset assessment goals, technical standards, and building condition inspections is required. • Possess 3‑5 years of capital planning, asset management, or data analytics experience and relevant professional certification. • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, data analysis, interpretation, and computer skills. • Hold or pursue professional engineering designation, assessment software accreditation, or LEED certification (assets).
