About the Role

As the Manufacturing IT SME, you will lead the design and deployment of next‑generation IIoT, low‑code/no‑code, and MES solutions for the manufacturing environment, while developing AI capabilities within these tools. You will act as the technical authority, troubleshoot and debug solution components, evaluate feasibility, and provide tier‑3 support to business operations teams. • Provide deep expertise in Manufacturing IT systems and MES solutions. • Troubleshoot and debug configuration components; deliver tier‑3 user support. • Evaluate technical feasibility and apply solution development best practices. • Advise on industry trends and align solutions with manufacturing business requirements. • Translate business needs into functional designs within enterprise architecture. • Resolve complex problems and propose optimal technical approaches. • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

What You Bring

Rolls‑Royce is seeking a Manufacturing IT – Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join the Manufacturing Solutions IT team in Derby. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days on‑site, and is a full‑time position reporting to the Product Delivery Manager. The role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing IT systems and processes, the ability to translate business requirements into functional solutions, and the skill to advise on industry trends relevant to specific processes. Candidates should hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience, with demonstrated expertise in manufacturing and assembly systems; experience in complex assembly or dis‑assembly settings is preferred. • Travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time. • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing & assembly systems. • Experience in complex assembly or dis‑assembly environments is preferred.
