Custodian

About the Role

The Cleaner will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, and washing interior floors, using both light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, vacuuming rugs in offices and public areas, spot cleaning and shampooing rugs as directed, and dusting furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, door trims, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting. Additional responsibilities cover washing windowsills, interior glass, doors, partitions, and designated exterior glass, cleaning interior walls, maintaining bathrooms by restocking supplies and monitoring fixtures, collecting building trash and replacing liners, and shoveling snow from steps and walkways as needed, along with periodic high dusting, leather and wood polishing, and wall washing. • Sweep, mop, and wash interior floors using manual methods, buffers, and shampoo machines. • Vacuum rugs and carpets in offices and public areas; spot clean and shampoo as directed. • Dust and clean furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, door trims, light fixtures, and high surfaces. • Wash interior windowsills, glass, doors, partitions, and designated exterior glass. • Clean and maintain bathrooms daily, restocking supplies and monitoring fixtures. • Collect and dispose of building trash, replace liners, and manage waste containers. • Remove snow and ice from building entrances and walkways as instructed. • Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, leather and wood polishing, and wall washing. • Operate cleaning equipment, including portable backpack vacuums and commercial floor machines. • Maintain attention to detail, organization, and high energy throughout the shift.
