About the Role
The Recycling Center Maintenance Technician performs repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment, and light trucks to maximize safe and productive operations. Typical work includes routine maintenance of hydraulic systems, electrical components, balers, conveyor systems, and compactors. The role involves diagnosing mechanical problems using diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals, then performing repairs and overhauls according to work orders. Technicians communicate with supervisors and equipment operators, troubleshoot complex electromechanical equipment, and complete daily consumables reports for fleet management. Preventative maintenance is performed on schedule, and the technician may also maintain plumbing, HVAC, odor, and negative pressure systems, as well as install new equipment and coordinate with vendors. Simple PLC instructions are read, troubleshooted, and programmed to enhance plant monitoring while adhering to all safety policies.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least one year of experience with building maintenance, HVAC, odor and negative pressure systems, and a minimum of three years working on equipment in a manufacturing or distribution setting. Required knowledge includes Tier 4 emission systems, welding or fabrication skills, and PLC programming; a valid driver’s license, a mechanical or trade school certificate, and a certificate in electronic diagnostics are also required. The minimum requirement is one year of equipment maintenance and repair experience.
