About the Role
Under the "Client focus" value, staff are expected to manage quality systems, deliver project plans from inception through design, procurement and construction, and support senior project managers and client teams to achieve timely, accurate delivery. They must monitor timeframes, budgets, risks and ensure robust quality and risk‑management processes. • Promote safety behaviours and apply Mace's HSW framework. • Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations. • Deliver and manage project plans from inception through construction, meeting milestones. • Manage tasks and deliverables supporting senior project managers and client teams. • Arrange technical services and external resources as required. • Lead project teams to meet KPIs and keep project plans updated. • Monitor project timelines, budgets, risks and mitigation strategies. • Maintain robust quality systems aligned with Mace Way/Service Excellence. • Participate in meetings, site walks and provide analysis and information. • Coordinate with stakeholders for risk management and mitigation. • Oversee procurement of consultants and contractors. • Document and process project changes within agreed timeframes. • Ensure handover documentation is completed before practical completion. • Drive business priorities through construction‑to‑production, digital & data, and responsible business practices. • Manage design, consultant, contractor and supply‑chain teams to deliver scope, fees, claims and variations. • Produce integrated design and authorities programmes. • Challenge client and internal teams to deliver optimal solutions. • Support net‑zero carbon transition and manage associated emissions. • Manage project budgets, highlighting risks and mitigation. • Support long‑term development of the function or business unit. • Mentor and develop project team members, fostering a safe learning environment. • Maintain membership of professional bodies (RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE) and hold a degree in engineering or construction.

Candidates should hold relevant technical qualifications or certifications, professional memberships, and may benefit from a driving licence and experience with water or civil infrastructure projects. • Demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. • Hold relevant technical qualifications/certifications (e.g., MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, CSCS). • Possess proven experience managing small‑to‑medium projects and budget oversight. • Know construction, infrastructure, and consultancy sectors, including procurement and commercial controls. • Desirable: driving licence, experience with water, utilities, civil infrastructure, and carbon sustainability considerations.
