About the Role

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer you will provide mechanical engineering support to the Enterprise Capital Engineering, Mill Sustaining team. The role supports capital projects through development, layout, design, installation and start‑up of equipment and ancillary systems for the North America Tissue Value Stream, and reports to the Engineering Manager, Mill Sustaining Capital. You will drive the development and execution of capital projects using Kimberly‑Clark North America Project Management Practices, lead by example in safety, ethics, quality and sustainability, and coach and mentor team members to improve the tissue value‑stream business results. Collaboration is central – you will work with R&D, Supply Chain, mill operations, procurement, equipment suppliers, external service providers and construction contractors, while maintaining technical expertise and communicating the impact of new technologies. • Lead development and execution of capital projects using the KCNA PMP process. • Ensure safety, ethics, quality, regulatory compliance and sustainability throughout project lifecycles. • Coach and mentor team members to enhance technical capabilities and drive business results. • Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, mill operations, procurement, OEMs and external service providers. • Maintain technical expertise and communicate technology impact to stakeholders. • Protect proprietary technology through proper documentation, patents and trade‑secrets. • Complete required project documentation (EFS, EDR, Appropriation) following corporate financial instructions.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, 4+ years of mill or production experience, strong PMP capabilities, experience managing $100 k‑$5 M projects, and expertise in high‑speed manufacturing equipment, SolidWorks or AutoCAD, with preferred paper‑industry experience. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. • Minimum 4 years experience in mill, production or staff R&D environments. • Strong PMP skills with experience managing $100 k‑$5 M projects and external partners. • Knowledge of high‑speed manufacturing and converting equipment design and operation. • Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD. • Preferred paper‑industry experience, especially in tissue machine and converting operations. • Ability to travel 25‑30% for project installations.
