About the Role

• Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized underground distribution systems safely. • Supervise and coordinate crew members, conduct pre‑job and tailgate briefings, and inspect work quality. • Lead and train lower‑skilled employees on safe work procedures, underground services, infrastructure, and duct banks. • Troubleshoot underground circuit issues, identify primary/secondary voltage, and manage line clearances and protection devices. • Operate and test equipment, install/remove PPE, work in confined spaces, and perform soil testing and grounding procedures. • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition and complete required paperwork.

What You Bring

The Underground Crew Leader role involves skilled construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical underground distribution systems. The position requires safe work practices on energized and de‑energized underground projects, supervising crew members, and applying leadership and management skills to train lower‑skilled employees in safe, productive procedures. Candidates must be able to travel on short notice, hold a CDL, lift over 50 lb, work extended periods outdoors in various weather conditions, and be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. The job entails regular physical activity, exposure to fumes, noise, and mechanical vibration, and demands compliance with company safety rules, reporting procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment. • Valid CDL with safe driving record; ability to travel long distances on short notice. • Ability to lift > 50 lb, perform rigorous physical labor, and work outdoors in inclement weather. • Knowledge of flag/tag procedures, induced voltage, cable termination tools, and shoring requirements. • Familiarity with ladder safety, line protection devices, and proper inspection of rubber goods and PPE.
