Operate heavy equipment for road and site work in remote Yukon, 3‑week shifts
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Operate heavy and light equipment (e.g., CAT 966, CAT 420, excavator, grader, steam truck) for road, stockpile, and berm work, including snow clearing. • Work three‑week on‑site shifts in the Yukon with paid travel to/from Whitehorse. • Ensure safe operation and compliance with site safety procedures and equipment operating manuals. • Perform daily pre‑ and post‑inspection checks, maintain equipment logs, and keep machinery tidy. • Refuel equipment, assist with routine maintenance, and report any issues promptly. • Collaborate closely with the field crew and follow directions from the Maintenance Superintendent. • Submit required daily reports and perform additional tasks as assigned.

What You Bring
• Possess at least five years of experience operating CAT surface‑mining or construction equipment. • Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence; Class 1 or 3 with air‑brake endorsement is an asset. • Be physically fit to lift up to 20 kg, sit or stand for long periods, and work in adverse weather conditions. • Have a Mine Rescue Certificate (surface) compatible with Yukon OHS standards, or be willing to obtain one. • Ability to work varied shifts and follow/communicate directions effectively.
