About the Role

The Building Engineering Services Business Group (BES BG) Director of Technology is a member of the Professional Services leadership team tasked with shaping a strategic technology vision for the multidisciplinary consulting practice. Reporting to the Professional Services Director, the role collaborates with BES leadership, corporate technology, operational leaders, vendors and other stakeholders to identify, evaluate and deploy technology initiatives that improve project execution, efficiency and innovation. • Lead technical team to define and execute BES technology vision, roadmap, and investment plan. • Integrate market‑driven strategies with practical implementation and risk management. • Develop communication plans to engage BES technology professionals and key stakeholders. • Standardize technology workflows and delivery practices to boost efficiency and quality. • Promote thought leadership through awards, publications, speaking engagements, and industry roles. • Shape future technology workforce by recruiting, developing, and retaining talent. • Build a network of technical and subject‑matter experts across HDR to support the enterprise. • Identify hardware and software needs (e.g., high‑performance computing) and partner with corporate IT for solutions. • Foster technology talent collaboration and skill development across practice groups.

What You Bring
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or a related field, at least eight years of experience with five in the architecture‑engineering consulting sector, and a proven ability to lead, develop and implement technology strategies that drive organizational change. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a professional, architecture, engineering or related discipline, a minimum of ten years of relevant experience, professional or engineering registration, and demonstrated experience managing diverse teams and collaborating with directors, operations managers and marketing leaders. • Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, IT or related field. • Minimum 8–10 years experience, with at least 5 years in architecture‑engineering consulting. • Proven leadership with growth mindset and ability to drive technology strategy. • Excellent communication and collaborative skills. • Professional/engineering registration preferred. • Experience managing diverse teams and working cross‑functionally.
