About the Role
The role involves developing rehabilitation designs for dams, levees, and other water‑retaining structures, conducting inspections and surveys, and preparing detailed construction documents. Engineers will also perform cost estimates, scheduling, and oversee construction activities, while managing various engineering analyses such as seepage, stability, hydraulic, and structural evaluations. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring junior staff and participating in regulatory inspections and emergency planning. • Develop rehabilitation designs for dams, levees, and water‑retaining structures. • Conduct inspections and surveys, record data, and produce reports. • Lead and mentor junior staff in inspection, design, construction, and analysis. • Prepare construction plans and specifications. • Perform cost estimating, quantity take‑offs, and project scheduling. • Oversee construction monitoring for rehabilitation and removal projects. • Manage and review seepage, slope stability, hydraulic, and structural analyses as needed. • Lead or participate in FERC Part 12 inspections and failure mode analysis sessions. • Develop scopes of work, technical proposals, and manage design deliverables.

What You Bring
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Dam Safety Project Engineer to join its growing Water Discipline. The team works on diverse projects near water, including some of the nation’s largest infrastructure endeavors, offering challenging and engaging design work. The current backlog includes strong dam and levee safety projects, requiring engineers with expertise in all aspects of dam safety. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, possess an EIT certification, and have at least four years of dam‑safety experience. A PE license is highly preferred, and experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers or FERC is advantageous. Strong communication skills, teamwork orientation, and a passion for water‑retaining structures are essential. • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; EIT required, PE preferred. • Minimum 4 years dam‑safety engineering experience. • Ability to work collaboratively; good English communication skills. • Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers or FERC projects a plus.
