Associate Practice Area Director - Healthcare Design

About the Role
In this senior position you will pursue, win, and execute a variety of healthcare projects—including inpatient hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, behavioral health facilities, and medical office buildings—while managing the regional healthcare team and aligning with both regional and practice‑area leadership. • Lead pursuit, win, and execution of healthcare design projects (hospitals, ASCs, behavioral health, medical offices). • Manage and expand the regional healthcare team while developing business plans and target pursuits. • Generate annual revenue of $1‑3 million and increase existing revenue streams. • Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, PM/CM firms, and general contractors. • Track leads, forecast project pipelines, and create winning strategies and teams. • Ensure technical excellence of project delivery and resolve complex engineering issues. • Develop and coordinate regional practice area business plans in alignment with the global strategy. • Create and evaluate design/build proposals and contract documents. • Lead sales presentations and promote integrated engineering services. • Produce industry articles, white papers, and present at conferences and events. • Recruit, mentor, and lead senior staff with market‑specific expertise. • Oversee project financials, inter‑office, and client reporting structures.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience), have a PE license, and bring at least 12 years of life‑science design experience with a minimum of five years in consulting or A/E firms, plus five years of management and business‑development experience. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience). • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required. • 12+ years of life‑science design experience, with at least 5 years in consulting/A‑E firms. • Minimum of 5 years of management experience. • 5+ years of business development experience in engineering. • Thorough knowledge of MEP systems. • Strong communication, relationship‑building, and self‑motivation skills.
