About the Role

The opportunity is for early‑career mechanical engineers to join a team designing HVAC and energy systems across Ontario. You will work on institutional, commercial, and infrastructure projects that reduce energy use, improve comfort, and modernize essential facilities while growing your technical judgment in a collaborative environment. In this role you will perform site surveys, develop load calculations, ventilation sizing, and equipment selections, and produce engineering calculations, reports, and construction documents that meet WSP standards and applicable codes. You will also review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, support construction administration, create mechanical drawings and specifications, and contribute to central plant and district energy system design. • Conduct site surveys and mechanical design assessments. • Prepare HVAC load calculations, ventilation sizing, and equipment selection. • Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documentation per WSP standards. • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration. • Produce mechanical drawings and specifications compliant with building codes and industry standards. • Contribute to central plant and district energy system layout and documentation. • Participate in client meetings and multidisciplinary design team discussions. • Assist with proposal development, fee letters, and RFP responses.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree with 3–7 years of hands‑on HVAC design experience in a consulting setting and is progressing toward P.Eng. licensure. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and calculation tools, along with knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, CSA standards, and ASHRAE guidelines, is required. Strong collaboration, client communication, and the ability to manage defined scopes independently are essential. • Hold a Mechanical Engineering degree with 3‑7 years HVAC design experience in consulting. • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and engineering calculation tools. • Progressing toward P.Eng. licensure with a commitment to professional growth. • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, CSA standards, and ASHRAE guidelines. • Capable of managing defined scopes independently while collaborating with teams. • Strong client interaction skills with clear technical communication.
