About the Role

The role focuses on designing and delivering Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and related DC and medium‑voltage distribution solutions. It involves collaborating with project teams, clients, and multidisciplinary participants to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery of engineering deliverables. • Design Battery Energy Storage Systems, DC and medium voltage systems, including switchgear and distribution networks. • Conduct system studies such as ampacity, load flow, short circuit, and loss analysis. • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the design and analysis phases of engineering projects. • Interact with clients to interpret their needs and requirements. • Review manufacturer equipment drawings and ensure compliance with applicable codes, QA/QC policies, and performance standards. • Perform quality control on project deliverables (drawings, studies) and initiate corrective actions as needed. • Direct designers and drafters on drawing requirements. • Coordinate with BESS Manager, Project Manager, and multidisciplinary participants to provide technical support. • Support development of standards, optimizations, and processes; stay current with technology trends.

What You Bring

• Minimum qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Renewable Engineering; 3‑5+ years experience in BESS, renewable energy, distribution, or MV power systems; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with intent to obtain PE license; ability to travel up to 25%. • Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, NEC, and NFPA codes and standards. • Strong organizational, multitasking, teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills. • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with CYME, ETAP, HOMER Energy Toolbase, or ESWare is a plus. • Preferred additional qualifications – Master’s degree in Engineering (renewable focus); experience with PV/Wind systems, construction, BESS connections to transmission/distribution/substations, and related regulations.
