Each day involves repairing trucks and equipment that serve millions of customers, using modern tools to maintain diesel and CNG fleets, while adhering to safety standards and documentation procedures. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems • Estimate time and material costs and follow Standard Labor Repair Times • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls and perform safety checks • Complete paperwork for parts usage and repair times; assist senior mechanics • Maintain a clean, OSHA‑compliant work environment

What You Bring
Successful candidates will have extensive diesel and CNG experience, background in the waste industry, and the ability to travel extensively within the market area. Mechanics travel up to 90% within their assigned area, with a home base at any nearby WM shop, and assignments can range from one to four weeks, including hotel accommodations while on the road. Candidates must meet basic qualifications such as relevant work experience, a valid driver’s license, legal eligibility to work in the United States, and the ability to pass pre‑employment screenings. The position requires frequent physical effort, exposure to harsh environmental conditions, and adherence to OSHA and corporate safety standards both inside workshops and outdoors. • Minimum 4 years of diesel/CNG mechanic experience; 6 years preferred • Background in waste‑industry mechanical work • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 90% within the market • Frequent lifting, standing, walking, and exposure to cuts, burns, chemicals, and weather extremes
