About the Role
Mortenson is seeking an MEP Project Manager II to provide overall direction and leadership on MEP‑dominant projects or MEP scopes within medium to large projects. The role includes managing project quality, timeliness, safety, mentoring team members, and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. • Manage overall financial health: projections, cost codes, invoices, and monthly owner billings. • Oversee budget, select trade partners and suppliers, handle billings, contract management, and 3‑D coordination & commissioning. • Lead project closeout activities, including operations and maintenance manuals, model turnover, and training. • Supervise Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers; assign tasks, develop careers, and provide performance feedback. • Serve as primary contact with owner and on‑site representative, resolve site concerns, and build positive relationships. • Manage change orders, determine submission timing, and obtain customer/architect approval. • Maintain schedule and budget through project completion while ensuring quality, risk, safety, and compliance. • Coach and lead diverse teams by example, offering effective feedback and mentoring.

What You Bring

Mortenson’s postings typically remain open for a minimum of five days, averaging 44 days. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. • Minimum seven years of construction management experience, preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100% of the time. • Capability to manage full project lifecycle from development through closeout. • Detail‑oriented with strong organization and multitasking skills across multiple project tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and general business practices. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, project software, and relevant web applications. • Strong communication, active listening, and customer service skills; openness to diverse input. • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans.

Benefits
The base pay range for this position is $132,100 to $198,200, with higher ranges for offices in Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.
