About the Role
The engineer will ensure timely execution of Advance Quality Planning, drive continuous improvement of supplier quality control and manufacturing capabilities, and achieve performance targets set by the Sourcing Manager by leveraging total cost of ownership levers and collaborating with key stakeholders. • Ensure adherence to internal and external policies, regulations and laws. • Maintain supplier compliance with Sandvik policies and guidelines, including EHS and the Supplier Code of Conduct. • Support development and implementation of local category strategies, priorities, targets and action plans. • Build and maintain strategic, long‑term relationships with key suppliers. • Develop suppliers unfamiliar with or not using industry quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP and Gage R&R. • Assess suppliers according to Supplier Quality core processes. • Manage process qualification (process audit) with site SQE during development phases. • Lead development and production of measurement, checking and testing fixtures and gauges. • Train suppliers to correctly apply defined standards. • Define control plans for supplier processes. • Collaborate with R&D, PDC, Supplier Quality and Engineering on new part development, project transfers and localization. • Participate actively in projects to achieve design‑to‑cost targets. • Manage action plans with suppliers when deviations occur in the development phase. • Identify cost‑reduction opportunities aligned with sourcing strategy, such as lowering inventory, increasing yields and improving supplier operations. • Support sourcing engineers and supplier KAM leads in annual contract review and negotiation to minimize total cost of ownership and meet KPIs for cost, quality and delivery. • Ensure conformity, perceived quality and traceability of projects throughout product development. • Secure supplier quality performance analysis, report findings and provide feedback, and take part in supplier performance evaluation. • Manage progress plans with low‑performance suppliers in collaboration with the Sourcing Manager and site SQE. • Initiate and validate corrective and preventive actions with suppliers for immediate containment. • Conduct supplier assessments in line with project and sourcing team strategy. • Manage compliance with and use of global and local contracts concerning Supplier Quality. • Provide recommendations or technical decisions to ensure defect‑free processes throughout projects. • Monitor and review the Production Part Approval file before site transfer and hand‑over to the site SQE. • Work according to established processes, leveraging systems and tools.

What You Bring
Education and experience required include a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 6–10 years of experience, preferably in the construction‑equipment or manufacturing sector.
