About the Role

• Carry out responsive plumbing repairs in occupied properties. • Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and drainage problems. • Replace taps, toilets, cisterns, basins and other sanitary ware. • Repair or replace pipework, valves and fittings. • Investigate and resolve hot‑water system and radiator issues. • Ensure work complies with plumbing regulations and health‑and‑safety standards. • Record job details, materials and completion notes via handheld devices or job sheets. • Remove, repair or replace bath panels for maintenance or leak detection, refitting them to a professional finish. • Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good condition. • Work respectfully in residents’ homes, keeping the environment clean and safe. • Identify and report additional works, safeguarding concerns or property issues. • Participate in the out‑of‑hours emergency rota as required. • Provide high levels of customer care at all times.

What You Bring

The plumber will be the primary point of contact for residents, delivering professional service and ensuring homes meet high standards of safety and comfort. The role demands strong problem‑solving abilities, adherence to health‑and‑safety regulations, and accurate documentation of work performed. Flexibility to join an out‑of‑hours rota is also required. • Proven experience in domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance. • Experience in carpentry repairs and maintenance. • Full UK driving licence. • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills. • Excellent customer service experience in occupied homes. • Good understanding of health‑and‑safety regulations and safe working practices. • Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work. • Willingness to join the out‑of‑hours emergency rota.

Mears Group is offering a full‑time permanent plumbing position in Brighton with a salary up to £38,000 per annum, a company van, fuel card and an out‑of‑hours rota covering 42.5 hours a week (Monday‑Friday, 8‑5).
