About the Role
You will design electrical building systems that enhance safety, performance, and sustainability for commercial, institutional, and mixed‑use projects. Deliver power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life‑safety designs that support project success from concept through construction. Apply energy‑efficient design principles to reduce environmental impact and meet client sustainability goals. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including mechanical, structural, sustainability, and architecture—to develop integrated solutions. Support the preparation of engineering drawings, technical reports, and specifications with accuracy and attention to detail. Contribute to on‑site reviews, inspections, and construction support to ensure design intent is executed effectively. • Design electrical building systems for commercial, institutional, and mixed‑use facilities. • Provide power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life‑safety system designs from concept to construction. • Apply energy‑efficient design principles to meet sustainability goals. • Collaborate with mechanical, structural, sustainability, and architectural teams to deliver integrated solutions. • Prepare engineering drawings, technical reports, and specifications with accuracy. • Conduct on‑site reviews, inspections, and construction support to ensure design intent. • Support site reviews and coordinate with contractors.

What You Bring
Hands‑on experience or co‑op/project exposure to electrical building systems, including lighting, power, and life‑safety design, is required. Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software is expected, along with a willingness to expand your technical stack. You should be comfortable supporting site reviews, coordinating with contractors, and hold (or be eligible for) EIT registration in British Columbia, or demonstrate equivalent design experience. A strong commitment to creating safer, energy‑efficient buildings that benefit clients, communities, and the environment is essential. • Hands‑on experience or co‑op/project exposure to electrical building systems, including lighting, power, and life‑safety design. • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software. • Eligible for EIT registration in British Columbia or possess equivalent design experience.
