About the Role
The Engineering Manager oversees the engineering and PSG teams, prioritizes the engineering backlog, and maintains office engineering standards. Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating staffing levels, evaluating customer expectations, recommending technical solutions, and ensuring quality control throughout design, estimation, installation, and commissioning. • Lead engineering and PSG teams, set backlog priorities, and enforce engineering standards. • Supervise team members: handle HR functions, provide training, mentorship, and drive productivity. • Coordinate staffing worksheets with GOS, GOM, Sales, and Operations to ensure proper headcount and skill sets. • Assess whether customer expectations align with Bosch estimates and contractual scope, providing feedback. • Recommend technical solutions to sales and operations and identify scope deficiencies for change‑order opportunities. • Apply knowledge of HVAC, SLS, IT networks, and general building systems to address operation issues. • Oversee estimation, design, installation, start‑up, commissioning, and training for building systems. • Conduct quality control checks on engineering output and review submittals against scope, specifications, and standards. • Develop and maintain local design tool libraries, drawing templates, estimating (BidTracer) templates, and standards material lists. • Act as vendor liaison, organize lunch‑and‑learn sessions, and mentor new design specialists. • Collaborate with sales on pre‑construction activities, including RFIs, risk assessments, and conceptual SLS designs. • Perform supervisory duties: plan, assign, coach, appraise, reward, discipline, and resolve employee issues per policies and laws.

What You Bring
In addition to technical leadership, the role involves supervisory duties such as planning, assigning, coaching, appraising, rewarding, and disciplining employees in line with company policies and legal requirements. The position also requires strong communication, leadership, and business‑financial acumen. • Required qualifications: high school diploma, 5+ years with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and AC power systems, strong verbal and written communication, leadership, and business‑financial awareness. • Preferred qualifications: technical degree in HVAC/electronics or related field, BidTracer experience, SLS quoting experience, fire alarm plan review experience. • Physical demands: occasional lifting up to 50 lb, manual dexterity, work at heights over 6 ft, and ability to sit, stand, walk in office and construction environments.
