About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality gas servicing, repairs and installations across the housing stock, ensuring appliances and systems are safe, compliant and fit for use. The role requires diagnosing boiler faults, performing landlord safety inspections, responding to emergency call‑outs and maintaining accurate records, while working both independently and as part of a team. An out‑of‑hours rota is required approximately every nine days, with additional pay for shifts that run from 6 pm to 8 am. • Service, repair, and install domestic gas appliances including boilers. • Diagnose faults and carry out remedial work safely and efficiently. • Perform landlord gas safety inspections and issue CP12 certificates. • Ensure compliance with gas regulations and internal procedures. • Respond to emergency call‑outs and urgent repairs. • Record work using handheld devices or job management systems. • Liaise with tenants, housing officers, and internal teams. • Maintain van stock levels and order materials as needed. • Identify and report safeguarding concerns or property hazards. • Collaborate with other trades on multi‑skill jobs. • Participate in toolbox talks, training, and safety briefings. • Wear PPE and follow health & safety procedures. • Support apprentices or junior engineers.

What You Bring

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Gas Installation and Maintenance. • Valid ACS certification (e.g., CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1). • Experience in domestic boiler servicing, fault diagnosis and installation. • Good knowledge of electrical safe isolation and basic wiring principles. • Understanding of current gas safety legislation and compliance standards. • Experience in social housing or local authority environments (preferred). • Excellent customer‑focused communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Proficient with handheld devices or digital job management systems. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices. • Flexible and willing to travel and attend out‑of‑hours call‑outs. • Full UK driving licence.
