About the Role

The Reactor Services Technician is directly responsible for the safe and efficient execution of activities within the Reactor Services department of the Outage Planning and Services Organization. Responsibilities include reactor disassembly, maintenance, reassembly, fuel handling, spent‑fuel work, dry fuel storage, and upkeep of support equipment, all performed in accordance with approved work packages, procedures, and NRC regulations. The role also supports a culture of continuous improvement through training, standards reinforcement, and corrective‑action participation. Assigned work must be performed safely and efficiently, following approved procedures, NRC regulations, and the site schedule. Tasks may involve inspection, maintenance, and operation of equipment used to service the reactor vessel, as well as fuel handling functions such as unloading, reloading, channeling, sipping, and dry storage. Additional duties include inspections and maintenance of reactor internals, fuel‑pool cleanout, and operations on the refueling floor and fuel building. The technician participates in pre‑job briefings and promotes strong safety and human‑performance behaviors, observing and reinforcing standards discussed. Ongoing training expands skill sets, and feedback is provided to supervision to foster a learning atmosphere. Work packages and walk‑down clearances are reviewed, documentation is completed, and corrective‑action activities are pursued for continuous improvement. • Execute reactor disassembly, maintenance, reassembly, fuel handling, and spent‑fuel work safely and efficiently. • Perform inspections, maintenance, and operation of reactor vessel service equipment in compliance with NRC regulations. • Handle fuel loading/unloading, channeling, sipping, and dry storage during outage periods. • Participate in pre‑job briefings and reinforce safety and human‑performance standards. • Complete required training, document work, and engage in corrective‑action processes for continuous improvement. • Communicate significant plant and personnel issues to Reactor Services management and external agencies. • Maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities while following approved work packages and procedures.

What You Bring

Minimum qualifications include a high‑school diploma with two years of reactor services or related power‑plant experience, or an associate degree in engineering technology. Candidates must demonstrate competency in reactor services, have five or more years of outage‑services refueling experience, and be able to maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities. Prior electrical experience is preferred, and the starting pay rate is $43.71 per hour. • Qualifications: High school diploma + 2 years reactor services experience or associate degree in Engineering Technology. • 5+ years outage services/refueling experience; prior electrical experience preferred.
