About the Role

The engineer will perform site development engineering and project‑management tasks for residential and commercial land‑development projects, including design, research, coordination, cost estimating, permitting, and preparation of bid packages and technical specifications. They will assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules, and work closely with engineers, designers, jurisdictions, and contractors to build internal and external professional relationships. • Perform site development engineering and project management for residential and commercial projects. • Design land‑development site layouts, utilities, and drainage systems. • Conduct research, cost estimating, permitting, and prepare bid packages and technical specifications. • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules. • Coordinate with engineers, designers, jurisdictions, and contractors. • Build and maintain internal and external professional relationships.

Kimley-Horn's Orlando, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Land Development team. This is an on‑site role, not remote. Candidates need at least four years of relevant engineering design experience and a Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within 12 months. Required skills include site civil design, permitting, and proficiency with hydrology modeling, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, as well as experience in task management, concept design, client coordination, and creation of construction documents covering utilities, site layout, drainage, due diligence, and permitting. • Minimum 4+ years of engineering design experience. • PE license (or ability to obtain within 12 months). • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology modeling, and storm‑drainage software. • Experience in site civil design, permitting, utility layout, and due‑diligence. • Strong task management, concept design, and client coordination skills. • Ability to produce construction documents and plan sets.
