About the Role

The Design Engineer is responsible for assessing applications, designing and documenting high‑quality custom communication systems and products that meet customer specifications, and quickly becoming a subject‑matter expert on all GAI‑Tronics products and systems. The role involves creating documentation and ensuring designs meet the high standards expected by customers. You will support sales by proposing custom equipment, evaluate specifications, determine feasibility, and create preliminary designs. You will also write technical solutions, generate bills of material, produce diagrams, assist other engineers, respond to inquiries, and provide documentation and internal support. Additional duties include performing acoustic surveys at customer sites to develop speaker layouts, and participating in customer training as needed. These surveys help create accurate speaker layouts, and you may also deliver training to customers when required. • Perform engineering to support sales in proposing custom equipment and systems. • Evaluate customer specifications and determine appropriate solutions. • Determine feasibility of custom product requirements and equipment integration. • Provide preliminary engineering design to define form, fit, and function. • Write technical system solutions and architectures based on GAI‑Tronics offerings. • Generate bills of material with accurate parts lists for custom products. • Create accurate diagrams of products and systems. • Assist other engineers to reduce project completion time. • Respond to customer inquiries via collaboration tools, email, or phone. • Deliver accurate technical documentation to customers. • Provide technical support to internal customers via the department Help Line. • Perform acoustic surveys at customer sites using sound meters and drawings, developing accurate speaker layouts. • Participate in customer training as required.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or technology and have at least five years of manufacturing experience, preferably with audio systems. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office is required, and experience with SAP and AutoCAD is strongly preferred. The position requires regular sitting, use of hands, speaking, and hearing, with occasional standing, walking, and reaching.
