System Study Engineer

About the Role
As an engineering authority, you will lead performance‑evaluation studies for projects and tenders involving Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) technology, supporting the Power Quality Solutions (PQS) business. The role requires creating and validating power‑system equivalents in RMS tools such as PSSE and DIgSILENT, as well as EMT platforms like PSCAD and EMTP, and developing FACTS solution models across multiple simulation environments. • Create and validate power‑system equivalents in RMS (PSSE/DIgSILENT) and EMT (PSCAD/EMTP) software. • Perform dynamic performance studies with FACTS devices integrated into power‑system networks. • Develop FACTS solution models across multiple simulation platforms. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate project and tender deliverables. • Participate in research and development activities as required by the business. • Engage in customer discussions and support project/product/application engineering teams in acquisition and consultation. • Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity.

What You Bring
• PhD in Power Systems (1‑3 years experience) or M.Tech in Power Systems (2‑5 years) or B.E/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (5‑10 years). • Strong understanding of power‑system steady‑state, dynamic, and transient behavior. • Experience with grid‑integration studies for converter‑based applications such as FACTS, HVDC, wind, solar, or battery storage. • Proficiency in simulation tools (PSCAD, PSSE, DIgSILENT, EMTP, RTDS, MATLAB). • Knowledge of international standards (IEEE, IEC, GIGRE) for power‑system solutions. • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills with attention to detail. • Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, fluctuating workload environments. • Fluent in spoken and written English.
