About the Role

• Manage geotechnical explorations, including boring layouts, utility clearances, drill rig supervision, soil classification, lab testing, computations, and report preparation. • Assist senior staff with marketing, proposal development, client interfacing, budget management, and invoicing. • Serve as a technical authority in pavement engineering, applying national research, design standards, and innovative solutions. • Lead senior technical oversight for pavement design, evaluation, rehabilitation, and asset‑management projects on transportation infrastructure. • Translate federal research, policy, and design guidance into implementable solutions for state DOTs, municipalities, and private clients. • Provide strategic advisory on pavement performance, life‑cycle cost, materials selection, sustainability, resilience, and risk mitigation. • Review and ensure quality, consistency, and compliance of pavement design reports, specifications, models, and technical memoranda. • Guide clients on emerging technologies, new materials, performance‑based design, and pilot program implementation. • Support development of firm‑wide pavement engineering methodologies, tools, and standard practices. • Mentor and train engineers and project teams, delivering workshops, technical training, and presentations. • Participate in peer‑review panels, technical committees, and professional organizations to maintain thought leadership. • Contribute to white papers, technical publications, conference presentations, and capture teams for DOT proposals. • Offer expert testimony or technical expertise in dispute resolution and support long‑term pavement practice strategy.

Candidates should hold a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program; a MS in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred, and an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification is required with the goal of obtaining a PE license. We are looking for 1‑3 years of relevant geotechnical experience and a commitment to professional development.
