About the Role
The Sustainability Manager role is a full‑time position based in Derby, with a hybrid working model requiring two to three days on site. This exciting opportunity involves developing and delivering RRSL’s sustainability strategy and improvement programme, coordinating a net‑zero, energy and waste reduction route map across operations, products and the supply chain. The role is accountable for leading and influencing the integrated sustainability strategy, creating a fully costed and risk‑assessed sustainability plan, and ensuring RRSL meets all statutory reporting obligations. You will manage the sustainability team, serve as the primary point of contact for sustainability matters, and oversee the editing and creation of sustainability and ESG reports and disclosures. • Lead and deliver RRSL’s integrated sustainability strategy. • Develop and execute a costed, risk‑assessed sustainability plan. • Ensure compliance with all statutory sustainability reporting obligations. • Manage the sustainability team and act as the primary sustainability contact. • Produce and edit sustainability and ESG reports and disclosures. • Engage stakeholders at all seniority levels on sustainability topics. • Consistently meet performance targets and implement swift corrective actions. • Create sustainability reports, strategies, and communication materials.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will have experience as a sustainability manager or in comparable roles, strong stakeholder engagement skills across seniority levels, and a proven ability to work within a complex corporate environment. They must consistently meet performance targets, take swift corrective action, and have a track record of producing sustainability reports, strategies and communication materials, while demonstrating broad vision, collaborative leadership and openness to change. Salary and seniority will be aligned with experience, and candidates are advised to inform their current manager of their application. The role is graded at Level C, with a closing date of 26 January 2026. • Experience managing sustainability programs or comparable responsibilities. • Proven track record in complex corporate environments. • Demonstrate vision‑setting, change‑management, and collaborative leadership. • Open to UK nationals or MoD‑approved dual nationals, within an inclusive workplace.
