Associate Director - Portolio Risk Advisor

About the Role

The Quality Manager works within capital delivery, collaborating with project teams and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The role is responsible for the simultaneous delivery of multiple water and water‑recycling projects within the AMP8 programme, ensuring compliance with the client’s governance procedures, including risk, cost, and change control, while working closely with other Mace teams. In addition, the manager will implement and deliver a comprehensive range of risk services, providing line‑management leadership and guidance for the PMO, the planning centre of excellence, and wider Mace business units such as other hubs and international centres. The position requires working on‑site in Peterborough three days per week. • Manage brisk management performance across assigned commissions. • Develop and implement robust risk frameworks and strategies. • Act as trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders. • Deliver quantitative risk analysis for cost and schedule. • Advise on contingency adequacy in reporting cycles. • Ensure compliance with Mace standards and legislation. • Mentor and manage junior risk professionals. • Drive innovation and best practice for service excellence. • Safety first – champion a safe, diverse, inclusive environment and wellbeing. • Create opportunity – foster continuous improvement and inspire people to develop.

What You Bring

• Expert knowledge of risk tools and software (e.g., Active Risk Manager, riskHive, @risk, Primavera Risk Analyzer). • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. • Proven ability to manage complexity and drive outcomes. • At least 10 years experience as a risk management leader on major construction programmes. • Client focus – own quality of deliverables, strategic outcomes and build long‑term relationships.
