About the Role

Position Summary: An Industrial Mechanic will install, assemble, dismantle, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery at an industrial power plant, working on small engines, motors, pumps, and other mechanical equipment. • Work with industry-specific, high‑complexity equipment. • Plan, inspect, verify, and document the scope of work. • Replace gaskets and other defective parts on machinery. • Dismantle machines using hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, and crowbars. • Assemble and install equipment like shafting, conveyors, and tram rails. • Bolt, weld, rivet, and fasten machinery to foundations or structures. • Operate engine lathes, grinders, and files. • Fabricate and install parts by measuring, cutting, drilling, and welding. • Turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. • Unload, inspect, move, and position equipment using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. • Use rigging and hoisting devices (chokers, chain falls, come‑along) to move equipment or materials. • Perform preventative maintenance, including lubrication and repair of worn parts. • Follow supervisor directions and complete other assigned duties.

What You Bring

Physical Requirements: The role demands extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting, with the ability to lift up to 50 lb, work at heights, and operate in all weather conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment. • Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance experience. • Knowledge of hand and power tools and industrial machinery. • Understanding of load properties for cables, ropes, hoists, and chains. • Strong organization, time management, and problem‑solving abilities. • Good manual dexterity, reading comprehension, and communication skills. • Ability to work both independently and as a team player. • Experience in chemical facilities and awareness of associated hazards. • Proficiency in basic math, geometry, and layout concepts. • Capability to lead others and provide detailed instructions. • Minimum five years of experience in an industrial chemical facility. • NCCER certification in Mechanical (preferred). • Basic computer efficiency and formal/technical education. • Prior Zachry employment or ROF status (preferred). • Must pass a DISA background check, drug test, and hold a valid driver’s license.
