About the Role

• Lead inspection and supervision of airfield pavements, subgrade, base courses, and surface finishes for aprons, taxiways, and runways. • Verify construction methods, materials, and workmanship against approved drawings, specifications, and ICAO/FAA standards. • Identify, document, and track non‑conformances, coordinating corrective actions with contractors and project teams. • Review civil design drawings, specifications, calculations, and evaluate contractor shop drawings for compliance. • Provide technical comments, approvals, and constructability recommendations to ensure adherence to engineering best practices. • Offer on‑site civil engineering support during construction of pavements, service roads, utilities, and drainage systems. • Resolve field issues and coordinate interfaces with lighting, utilities, and multidisciplinary teams. • Support testing, commissioning, and functional verification of constructed pavements. • Coordinate daily with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to align work with the project schedule and participate in site meetings. • Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements, identify hazards in restricted airside zones, and support safety and environmental management plans. • Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, as‑built information, and punch lists; prepare daily and weekly progress reports. • Review and approve civil method statements, inspection test plans, material submittals, and technical queries. • Oversee construction and testing of rigid and flexible pavements, including batching, placement, curing, jointing, and asphalt works. • Review laboratory and field test results such as compaction, concrete strength, and pavement thickness verification. • Verify that constructed pavements meet aircraft loading requirements, design life criteria, and operational standards. • Ensure civil works comply with ICAO Annex 14, FAA standards, airport authority specifications, and local regulations; support audits. • Mentor junior civil engineers and inspectors, promoting consistent application of engineering, quality, and safety standards.

What You Bring

Parsons is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer (Airfield) – Saudi National to lead construction supervision and field engineering on a major airfield infrastructure project. The role requires a strong civil engineering background with specialized experience in apron, taxiway, and runway construction, including pavements, subgrade, drainage systems, and utilities. Candidates must have extensive experience delivering large‑scale airport projects and ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and aviation authority requirements. The position involves overseeing inspection, verifying methods, managing non‑conformances, and supporting testing and commissioning activities. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. • Demonstrated delivery of apron, taxiway, and runway pavements with associated utilities and drainage systems. • Experience working in operational or restricted airside environments (preferred). • Strong knowledge of airfield pavements, drainage, utilities, and subgrade preparation. • Ability to interpret civil/airfield drawings, calculations, and specifications. • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, testing protocols, and construction documentation. • Proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM, or field verification tools. • Certification in civil engineering inspection or QA/QC is advantageous. • Fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus.
